SEO Courses

Scheduled courses for people who want structure and other people in the room. Four weeks live online, a two-day masterclass in Manchester, or your whole team trained in-house. Every one covers AI search as well as Google, which most do not.

At a glance

Three ways to learn it in a group

Never more than 4 people, because past that it stops being teaching and starts being a lecture.

SEO Foundations4 weeks live online4 × 2h evenings 4£299 pp
SEO + AI Search Masterclass2 days in Manchester2 × 6h, Sat and Sun 4£449 pp

One-to-one day on /seo-training Private, Manchester or Zoom1 day1 £499 / £999

Group works out cheaper per person than the private day, which is the right way round. The private day stays dearer because the whole thing bends to one business, and on the £999 version the work is done on your site while you watch.

The courses

What each one covers

All three include the you are supervised for 90 days afterwards that follows every format we teach.

1

SEO Foundations

4 weeks live online · 4 × 2h evenings · max 4 · £299 pp

Four Tuesday evenings, two hours each, live over Zoom with no more than four people. Every session is recorded so a missed week is not a lost week. The volume option, and the one that makes "UK-wide" true rather than aspirational, because nobody travels.

What it covers

  • Week 1 — how search actually works, and reading Search Console properly
  • Week 2 — keyword research from what people type, not what a tool suggests
  • Week 3 — on-page work and the technical faults that cap everything else
  • Week 4 — local search, and AI search: crawler access, llms.txt, entity signals

Who it suits

Owner-operators and marketing assistants starting from nothing, who would rather learn over a month than absorb a whole day at once, and who want to try things between sessions.

Practicalities

  • Tuesdays 7pm to 9pm, four weeks running
  • Recorded, so you keep the sessions
  • Bring your own site — exercises use it
  • Certificate of completion, attendance only
Register interest — next intake Runs when four places are taken. You will be told the date before anything is paid.
2

SEO + AI Search Masterclass

2 days in Manchester · 2 × 6h, Sat and Sun · max 4 · £449 pp

A weekend at 116 Bury New Road, four people maximum, lunch and refreshments included and free parking on site. Twelve hours is enough to go properly deep on AI search rather than bolting it on at the end.

What it covers

  • Day one — technical foundations, keyword research, on-page, local search
  • Day two — AI search in depth: GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot access tested live
  • Structured data an answer engine can quote, and llms.txt written on the day
  • Every one of the free tools demonstrated on real sites, including yours

Who it suits

People who learn better in a room than on a call, and small teams of two or three who want to come together and split the day between them.

Practicalities

  • Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm
  • 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB
  • Lunch, teas, coffees and free parking included
  • Certificate of completion, attendance only
Register interest — next weekend intake Runs when four places are taken. Weekends only, so it does not cost you a working week.
3

In-house team training

On site anywhere in the UK, or Teams · Half day or full day · max 4 · from £750

Your team, your website, your sector. The syllabus is written after looking at what you actually have rather than pulled off a shelf, which is the whole reason to do it in-house instead of sending two people on a public course.

What it covers

  • A live audit of your own site as the teaching material
  • Whatever your stack actually is — WordPress, Shopify, a bespoke build
  • How to brief and judge an SEO supplier, if you use one
  • A written plan your team owns afterwards, not slides

Who it suits

Marketing teams who have inherited SEO, agencies who want their account managers to stop nodding along, and businesses where the person who owns the website is not the person who owns the marketing.

Practicalities

  • £750 half day, £1,200 full day
  • Up to four people, +£150 per extra head
  • Anywhere in the UK, or over Teams
  • Travel inside Greater Manchester included
Register interest — talk about dates Priced per day, not per head, so a team of four costs the same as a team of two.
Afterwards

You are supervised for 90 days afterwards

The day ends at five o'clock. The relationship does not. For three months afterwards you are still under my supervision, which means you can send me what you have done and get a straight answer on it before it goes live rather than after.

It genuinely ends at 90 days. There is no auto-renewal, no subscription that starts quietly, and no upsell scripted into week eleven. If you want to keep working together after that you can, and if you do not, you leave with everything you were given.

Straight answers

What we will not claim

Worth reading before you compare us with anyone else's course page.

  • The certificate is a record of attendance. It is not accredited, and no SEO certificate sold in the UK is a regulated credential whatever the marketing says.
  • We will not promise you rankings, traffic or leads from a course. Anyone who does is selling you a feeling.
  • Dates are shown as the next intake rather than a fixed calendar, because advertising a date and then cancelling it is worse than not advertising one.
  • If the free guides and 48 tools would answer your question, take those instead. They are complete and they cost nothing.
FAQ

Questions about the courses

How much does an SEO course cost in the UK?

Public one-day workshops usually run £250 to £600 plus VAT, and multi-day courses £900 upwards. Ours are £299 for four evenings online and £449 for a two-day weekend in Manchester, with no VAT added because this business is not VAT registered. In-house training is £750 for a half day and £1,200 for a full day regardless of how many people attend, up to four.

What is the difference between the courses and the one-to-one day?

The courses have other people in the room and are cheaper per head. The one-to-one day is you and me for the whole day, so it moves at your pace and stays on your business. The £999 version is the only one where the work is actually implemented on your site while you watch. Group is better value; private is better fit.

Do I need any SEO experience to take a course?

No. Foundations assumes nothing at all, and the masterclass starts from the same place before going deeper. Neither has a prerequisite course you have to buy first, which is a common structure elsewhere and an expensive one.

Do you cover AI search, or just Google?

Both, in every format. That is the main reason to pick these. Most UK providers sell classic SEO and AI search as separate courses, so covering both means two fees and two days. Here it is one course because in practice it is one job.

Are the courses online, in person, or both?

Foundations is live online over four evenings. The masterclass is in person in Manchester over a weekend. In-house is delivered at your office anywhere in the UK, or over Teams if that is easier.

Can you train my whole marketing team?

Yes, that is the in-house option. It is priced per day rather than per head up to four people, the syllabus is built around your own site and sector, and you keep a written plan afterwards rather than a slide deck.

Will I be able to do my own SEO afterwards, or will I still need an agency?

For most small business sites, you will be able to do it, provided you can give it an hour or two a day. That condition is the part people skip. If you cannot, the honest answer is that the course still pays for itself by letting you judge whether a supplier is doing anything worth paying for.

Is there a certificate?

A certificate of completion, recording that you attended and what was covered. It is not accredited and we will not call it that. No SEO certificate sold in the UK is a regulated qualification.

What happens if I get stuck after the course?

Ninety days of supervision, the same as the one-to-one day. Send work before you publish it, ask why something moved, get honest tool recommendations. It ends at ninety days with no auto-renewal.

Do you run courses outside Manchester?

The online course is available anywhere. In-house training is delivered anywhere in the UK. Only the weekend masterclass is tied to Manchester, because that is our own room.

Is VAT added?

No. This business is not VAT registered, so the price shown is the price paid. Most training providers quote plus VAT, so compare the final figures rather than the headline ones.

When does the next course run?

Courses run when the places are taken, and you will be given the date before anything is paid. We deliberately do not publish a fixed calendar we might have to cancel, because a cancelled advertised date is worse than no date.

Is it cheaper to learn SEO or hire an agency?

Over a year, learning it is far cheaper if you have the time. A typical UK retainer is £1,200 to £3,000 a month against £299 once. What a retainer buys is somebody else spending the hours, which is a real thing to buy. The deciding factor is your time, not the arithmetic.
