FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are these tools really free?

Yes. No account, no card, no daily limit and no cut-down results. Every tool runs the same checks we run before quoting a client. The paid thing on this site is the work of fixing what they find.

Why do you give this away?

Because a diagnosis is a better introduction than a sales page, and because most people who run these will fix the problems themselves, which is a perfectly good outcome. Some will not want to, and those are the people who get in touch.

Do you store the URLs I check?

We keep a short-lived cache of the page we fetched, for five minutes, so running several tools on one address does not mean several requests to your server. We do not build a database of who checked what.

Can I check a site I do not own?

Yes. Everything here reads publicly available pages, the same as any search engine. It is a legitimate way to see how a competitor is set up.

How do I download the report as a PDF?

Run a check, then use the "Save as PDF" button above the results. It opens your browser's print dialogue with a print layout applied, and choosing "Save as PDF" as the destination gives you a clean document with the navigation and buttons stripped out.

Can I run all 40 checks at once?

Yes, that is the default on this page. The page is fetched once and every analyser runs against that same response, so it is one request to your server rather than forty.

Why is my score not 100?

The score is the proportion of checks passing, with warnings counting half. It is a rough summary, not a grade any search engine recognises. A site can score well and still not rank, because these tools measure the technical and on-page side, not your content quality or your backlink profile.

Do these tools measure Core Web Vitals?

Not the full set, and we would rather be clear about that than imply otherwise. Core Web Vitals need a rendering browser and real visitor data. What we measure directly is server response time, page weight, compression and render-blocking resources, which is what sits underneath those scores. Google Search Console shows you the real field data.

Why did a check fail on a site that works fine?

Some servers block automated requests, and some sit behind a firewall that treats any unfamiliar user agent as a threat. If a check cannot reach your site, that is itself worth knowing, because search and AI crawlers hit the same wall.

What is the difference between these and the free audit?

These are instant and ungated, one check at a time or all at once. The free audit takes your name and email and sends a written report you can keep and forward. Same engine underneath.

Do you offer an API?

Not currently. If that would be useful to you, get in touch and tell us what you would use it for.

Can these tools fix the problems they find?

No, and no tool can. They tell you what is wrong and roughly what to do about it. Fixing it is either your developer's afternoon or ours.
